BEFORE & AFTER CARE

 

School-aged children attend public as well as a few area private schools. Childcare and breakfast are provided to participating children until they are transported to school.

 
 

After school, children are required to do their homework. If homework is not given, age appropriate curriculum work will be given to the child for that period. Homework hours are for a period of 1½-2 hours, depending on the length of homework. Dictionaries and encyclopedias will be accessible. Assistance will be given to children in need. When homework period is over, children will have access to the following:

  • Educational software, games, and Parental Guidance internet

Table Play & Puzzles

  • Variety of floor puzzles, table puzzles, and manipulative toys

Arts & Crafts

  • Coloring, cutting, pasting, painting, and cooking projects, holiday projects, or regular projects

Games

  • Variety of board games and children card games

Game Systems

  • Parental Guidance video games

Music

  • Parental Guidance music: Cultural, Educational, and a variety of other music

Outside Play

  • Playground, sports, and hand games

Movies

  • Parental Guidance movies and no music videos

 

Special weekly programs are incorporated to enhance children’s social skills, cognitive development, and emotional skills, such as karate, dance, etc. These programs are announced at the beginning of the school year and a recital is generally held towards the end of the school year to exhibit what they learned.
